On a ‘mission from God’, the duo is set to take Launceston by storm when they perform at Country Club Tasmania on February 24, 2017.
The Official Blues Brothers Revue show will follow the hit movie’s lovable tale about a pair of paroled convicts who set out to save the Catholic orphanage they grew up in from the tax department.
The suit and glasses, and whacky kind of humour of Elwood seemed like a great piece of musical theatre, so I jumped at the chance to do.

Jake and Elwood reform their rhythm and blues band, The Blues Brothers, and organise a concert to raise $5000 to pay off the orphanage’s debt.
But the pair always seem to find themselves in mischief and misadventure.
Lafferty and Catania were performing a Blues Brothers skit in an impersonator show in Las Vegas when they were asked to be part of a documentary.
Catching the eager eyes of Dan Aykroyd and Judith Belushi, the duo were asked to audition for the official Blues Brothers tour.
“We wanted to get into the music and get into these characters a little more, so long story short we drove up to Chicago and got the parts,” Lafferty, who plays Elwood, said.
“The suit and glasses, and whacky kind of humour of Elwood seemed like a great piece of musical theatre, so I jumped at the chance to do it because it seemed challenging.”
Working closely with Aykroyd and Belushi gave the duo a rare insight into the characters.
“We did learn a lot about the make-up of these characters from Judy and Dan,” Lafferty said.
The show is a combination between live theatre, concert and multimedia, in Lafferty’s words ‘it is music and humour’.
“We encourage people to jump in, we found Australian audiences to just be wonderful, they aren’t shy at all,” he said.
This will be Lafferty’s second visit to Tasmania.
“I am really looking forward to going to Tasmania actually...it is kind of a cool spot,” he said.
Lafferty is most looking forward to enjoying fresh Tasmanian seafood.
