Brown uses the series crime fiction format to investigate his home state, Tasmania. The latest novel was based in Hobart, along with the first. The second novel started at Barnbougle, with Launceston and Devonport being referenced throughout the series.
“As the series develops, not just for tourism purposes, but because the novels are about Tasmania, I’m trying to explore different facets of the state… they’re books about crime as well as Tasmania,” Brown said.

“The series is growing... but obviously with the series there is a self-contained story in each one.”
Brown has been working on the series for about four years, producing one finished product a year. The forth novel is “well under way”. “(The novels are) going well... other shops are asking for them to be restocked too, which is great,” Brown said. The series is available from Petrarchs.
