- Dean Cocker
“Two buildings have been demolished so far with the third and final non-heritage building to be demolished this weekend,” he said.
“Fill has been added together with service conduits to prepare the surface to generally 150mm below finished surface level.”
Mr Cocker said the project is on schedule, with the car park base to be prepared and compacted by Christmas.
Kerbs will be added in early January, and the asphalt seal will be added in late that month, with the overall project expected to be complete by early February.
The project is the first stage of a complete revitalisation of the TRC site, which will include a major redevelopment, in the order of $40 million.
The next stage will be a tram running from the Penny Royal to the Windmill area, with future plans for a hotel and conference centre.
