Gunns miss document deadline

THE Federal Court of Australia has given Gunns another month to provide documents to lawyers pursuing a class action after the company failed to meet an August 19 deadline.

Justice Michael Jacobson yesterday ordered that Gunns provide documents, including board and audit committee minutes and woodchip contracts, to the plaintiff by 4pm on September 28.

Maurice Blackburn is representing plaintiff Sean Foley and more than 340 others.

The law firm and those representing Gunns are to meet on or before October 25, with a further directions hearing listed for October 27.
