The tournament provided many highlights and it was the Launceston Giants who took honours in both the male and female competition.
With futsal being a growing sport in the state, the tournament brought together 12 of the best teams.
Northern Futsal Tasmania CEO Rudy Compagne said the event showcased some of the most talented young futsal players in the state.
“We had eight men’s teams and four women’s teams for the first year with players from Hobart, Launceston, Burnie through to Devonport playing,” Compagne said.
“I certainly think we had the best and highest quality of players from around Tasmania playing.

“I think the best teams won on the day and the winning Giants teams had a number of state players.”
Compagne said he already had plans to expand the Northern Futsal Challenge Cup event in 2017 with one idea in place being for two divisions for next year’s event.
