Hobart group MILO BEAN are heading north on Friday to launch their new album. The Kind in Time tour’s Launnie gig features support from Halfway To Forth, Tom Fowkes, and Isla Ka. You can catch the line-up at Club 54 from 9pm. Entry is $5.
Launceston band HEED are playing at The Royal Oak on Saturday night to celebrate the launch of their single. The trio started this year, and are already working on a debut EP. They’ll be supported by acoustic duo Annie & Danni. The gig kicks off at 8pm, and entry is by donation.
BRITISH INDIA are in the state this weekend on their I Thought We Knew Each Other tour. The Tasmanian leg kicks off in Hobart on Friday at the Republic Bar. They’ll back it up on Saturday at Launceston’s Club 54. In Launceston, they’ll be supported by Brisbane’s Golden Age of Ballooning, and hometown act Cardinels. Tickets are $35 (plus booking fees) for each gig, available through Moshtix for Hobart, and Oztix for Launceston.
Looking ahead, hard working Tasmanian artist JED APPLETON is touring the country for the launch of his latest album. He will play two home-state shows, at Hobart’s Republic Bar on December 17, and the Red Velvet Lounge at Cygnet on December 18. Tickets for the Republic Bar gig are on sale via Moshtix for $8. The Cygnet show is a matinee, with a starting time of 4pm. Appleton’s self-titled album is out now.
DALLAS FRASCA will storm into Hobart just before Christmas for their Dirt Buzz tour. It’s the second last gig on the Victorian band’s mammoth world tour. You can catch them at The Homestead on December 23, from 9pm. Tickets are on sale now through Trybooking for $17.
It might be on the 2017 calendar but the ESK BEERFEST is only a month away. Early bird tickets for the January event are on sale now. This year’s entertainment features the musical likes of Josh Pyke & Bob Evans together, The Potbelleez, and Bombs Away. The Fresh Comedy stage is set to return, featuring Greg Fleet and Chris Franklin. Esk BeerFest will this year be held on Launceston’s The Esplanade, on January 13 to 14. Single-day tickets are $25, and two-day passes are $35.
