The award, which recognises involvement in Greening Australia’s Midlands Restoration Project, was presented to early childhood teacher Lani Young on Thursday for her efforts in teaching students about nature and threatened species in the Tasmanian midlands.
Campbell Town District High School Principal Cindy Johnston praised Ms Young on giving students the opportunity to experience science in the place they live.
“Lani has fostered strong interest and engagement from her students and their families,” she said.
The award is sponsored by the John Roberts Charitable Trust.
