The two-court facility was inundated with water during the June floods, leading club members to pursue the possibility of building a new complex rather than pay for repairs to the existing courts.
Club member Cory Youd said the prospect of constructing a new three-court complex at Alveston Drive was an enticing one for players.
“We're at a critical time now where it'd be great if we could get support to have all our sports together in one precinct,” Mr Youd said.
“We'd obviously like a new facility but it’s also a thing where we hope it would attract more people and make the community more aware that squash happens (in Deloraine).”
Fitz-Gerald, who has taken to building courts since retiring from the sport in 2003, said while the project was in its early stages she was always happy to be involved with people passionate about the game.
“I've done every part of squash there is, which is being a player, a coach, I've worked in squash clubs, I’ve cleaned them, now I’m building the courts,” Fitz-Gerald said.
“Through Court Tech I get to travel around Australia and hopefully improve and build better facilities right across the country.”
