Police responded to three bomb threats at schools across the state on Thursday. 

The calls were made to the schools about 10am. 

Police said they attended each school and conducted inquiries, but did not identify anything of concern. 

Classes resumed. 

Police believe the calls were similar to those made in February.

Summerdale Primary School received a bomb threat on Thursday morning about 10am. 

Principal Sam Woodham addressed parents in a Facebook post, and said the Summerhill school followed all safety procedures including evacuation.

“The safety of students and staff is always our first priority and while we do not want to alarm people, we take any incidents such as this very seriously,” the statement said. 

Police and Emergency Services checked and cleared the site. 

There were a spate of primary school evacuations across Victoria on Thursday morning after schools received threatening phone calls.  

A witness told The Examiner there were children gathered seated on the Summerdale Primary oval and multiple police cars on the scene about 11am. 

A parent told The Examiner parents were not instructed to pick up their children, but they had chosen to for “peace of mind”. 

A statement from police is expected soon.
