Hotondo Homes Launceston has one very experienced builder at the helm.
John Dykman has been building homes in northern Tasmania since he started his own business, J & C Dykman, in 1980.
He built a business that saw two or three other builders join forces and even in the most difficult housing markets his reputation for reliability and quality has carried him through.
The introduction of the GST nearly two decades ago created some uncertainty for business owners and it was around this time that an approach by Hotondo for John to join the national franchise was met with open ears.
“I didn’t know what impact the GST would have on business and I figured that joining Hotondo would soften the blow,” he explained.
“As it’s turned out many predictions around the GST were just scaremongering but the relationship with Hotondo has proved to be beneficial all round.
“We’ve been able to grow our business – which we may not have been able to do on our own – and our customers have benefited by receiving more choices at competitive prices.”
Hotondo Homes showed John how to grow the business and supported him all the way.
As a result his team has won several Master Builders Association and Housing Industry Australia awards plus many Hotondo awards.
Since building his first Hotondo display home in Mt Leslie Rd, Prospect another five have been constructed at regular intervals – the latest being the beautiful and contemporary Esplanade design at 37 Tamar Rise, Riverside.
The new display home at 37 Tamar Rise, Riverside is open for inspection Tuesday-Friday 12-4pm, Saturday 9.30am-1pm. Other times by appointment. Phone: 0429 525 966.
Last year Hotondo Launceston built 28 houses and there are another eight house and land packages available for the next batch of new home owners looking for that perfect place to live, with blocks available in Prospect, Legana, Riverside and Kings Meadows.
According to John the availability of the First Home Owner’s Grant is driving a good portion of business.
“First home owners, like most people, see the value in building to get best value for money,” he said.
“Everything is new, covered by warranties, the energy efficiency is six stars, which you won’t find in an older home plus you get what you want.
“The ability to build in technology, such as heating and window coverings that can be operated through an app on a smart phone, is another bonus.”
Hotondo Homes’ brand new Esplanade 260 design offers plenty of space and comfort for a growing family and all the contemporary looks and features that a discerning home owner could imagine.
Now open in Riverside for inspection, the incredible three-bedroom home allows owners to take advantage of scenery with the open-plan living area located on the top floor.
