A 47-year-old Moonah man has received eight charges in relation to an alleged incident at Maple Avenue, Moonah on Sunday.

Police will allege that the man barricaded himself in his residence armed with a firearm over a 14 hour period from Sunday, November 27 until he was taken into custody at 7.30am on Monday, November 28.
Police will also allege the man fired his weapon at police several times during the incident.
The man has been charged with three counts of aggravated assault, possession of a firearm when not the holder of licence, possession of ammunition when not the holder of licence, for defacing identification markings of firearm, recklessly discharge a firearm and creating common nuisance.
The man remains in custody and is due to appear in the Hobart Magistrates Court this afternoon.
Police would like to hear from any witnesses who they haven’t already spoken to including those onlookers who may have taken footage.
