The 45-hole stroke event will see competitors play 27 holes on Saturday and 18 holes on Sunday for the title.
More than 70 entrants are expected to tee off in the championships which is a good number according to organisers.
The Tamar Valley Championship is an official Golf Tasmania Toogood Consistency Trophy Event with scores counting toward averages for state team selections.
Golfers from across the North of the state are expected to take part in the championship including some juniors from Hobart and the North-West coast.
Among those competing will be Launceston’s Mitch Van Noord and Matthew Marston, Prospect Vale’s Jack Tregaskis and Ulverstone’s Anthony Glozier and Cameron Allen.
Inquiries can be made to tournament director Graham Moloney on 63839567 or 0417540740.
