Dairy cows are consuming feed enriched with Omega-3 fatty acids, which they then pass naturally through the digestive process to their milk.
Westhaven general manager Jonty Barnett said the program was developed with Ringarooma supplement company Naturale to ensure the Omega-3 remained intact during the cows’ digestive and milking processes.
“It’s been a nine-or-12-month project, so now it’s time to get it out there and sell some yoghurt,” Mr Barnett said.
The new range was released last week, offering two 200-gram varieties for children, who need Omega-3 for brain development, and two 500-gram varieties.
