A massive night of action and a well prepared track had the strong crowd at Carrick speedway totally entertained.

The track was fast throughout the night with three lap records broken.

The programme featured two memorial races, the time honoured Derrick Dunn Memorial for modifieds and the inaugural Mark Triffet Memorial for AMCAs.

In the modifieds Craig ‘Smiley’ Williams led from start to finish however he was under pressure from Andy Russell for much of the 20-lap race.

Russell tried several unsuccessful passing moves as the two raced in close proximity. The battle for third was exciting as Josh Marston came under attack holding ground until a mechanical problem ended a strong run.

Jake Taurian who had slipped back to fifth early in the journey moved his way forward to finish third.

The AMCA final was dominated by Daniel Brooks who has had a wretched run in recent weeks culminating in a rollover last weekend.

He certainly made amends and drove a textbook race to win from flag to flag after setting a new lap record in an earlier heat.

Second was a solid drive by Rodney Bassett ahead of Andrew Ryder.

The super sedan racing was fast and close with Callum Harper setting a new lap record on the way to winning the third heat.

In the final Dave Nicholls powered passed Callum in turn one however his glory was short lived as Callum overtook in turn two.

Nicholls retired on lap four with mechanical issues as racing continued.

Harper took victory with a long gap back to Steve Latham and Corey Smith.

Ben Shadbolt won the Formula 500s and set a new lap record in the final as he powered to victory ahead of Rick Weatherill and Dylan Beveridge.

The juniors saw Jakobe Jetson under pressure in the final however he kept calm and took victory after a good dice with Joe Dickerson and Eliis Dickenson finishing in that order.

The wingless category saw Brad Whitchurch take victory ahead of Luke Redpath and Jeremy Smith.

Cameron Briggs won the Tassie sixes final from Todd Russell and Nathan McIllwain.
