Meanwhile, Canberra's Aiden Blizzard has hit a purple patch of form ahead of his upcoming Big Bash League stint with defending champions Sydney Thunder.
Blizzard belted unbeaten scores of 81 (55 balls) and 97 (52) to power the ACT Comets to two nine-wicket victories over Fairfield-Liverpool and Sydney University in the Kingsgrove Sports Twenty20 Cup at Manuka Oval on Sunday.

Canberra United goal-scoring freak Michelle Heyman blasted two goals into the net as led her team to a 5-2 win against the Newcastle Jets.
The Jets had no hope of victory with Heyman firing in attack, opening the scoring in the 19th minute and netted another just after half-time to snuff out any hopes of a comeback.
Teenage sensation Grace Maher also got on the score sheet as Canberra cruised to their first home win of the W-League season. Full report to follow.

Canberra Capitals solidified their title credentials with a 87-82 win over league leaders Perth Lynx on Sunday at Tuggeranong Stadium.
The Capitals bounced back from a 10-point half-time deficit to win in front of a vocal crowd of 892 people at Tuggeranong Stadium Sunday afternoon.
Perth's Sami Whitcomb scored 36 points but an all-round performance led by co-captain Marianna Tolo secured the impressive win for Canberra.

What a difference two days can make in baseball.
The Canberra Cavalry put on a show in the maiden Wollongong Classic, beating arch-rivals the Sydney Blue Sox 21-11 in a history making fixture less than 48 hours after a being on the wrong end of a 10-run drubbing.
