Capital works on Tasmanian schools starting soon

Capital works will soon begin on government schools across Tasmania.

East Devonport Primary School will receive a $1.8 million upgrade, Queechy High School will receive $3 million, Riverside Primary School will benefit from $2.5 million, and St Marys District School has received $5 million.

The funds will be used to undertake works such as building new general learning areas, arts facilities and other amenities.

Work will be completed in 2017-18.

“Our plan to build Tasmania’s education future will drive economic growth and create jobs from planning to construction, while providing students with a modern learning environment,” Education Minister Jeremy Rockliff said.
