The fire is now contained but fire crews will remain on alert as the North endures another high fire danger day today.
The fire started at 3.30pm yesterday and quickly spread to Powranna Road, fanned by strong winds and 30 degree temperatures.
A Tasmania Fire Service spokeswoman said cooler conditions overnight helped firefighters establish containment lines around the blaze.
Earthmoving equipment was being used to construct fire breaks and fire crews remained on site to monitor the fire, which started at Powranna Road.
Powranna Road remains closed but the spokeswoman said the fire was no longer a threat to lives or property.
``If it stays like this there will be no concerns at all,'' she said. ``It just depends on the weather.''
