East Coast businesses have dominated at the 2016 Tasmanian Tourism Awards, with eight coastal operations unveiled as gold winners at a ceremony in Hobart earlier this month.

Avalon Coastal Retreat, Sandpiper Ocean Cottages and Saffire Freycinet all won awards for accommodation, while St Helens' Big 4 Caravan Park was named the top caravan and holiday park destination.
Tasmanian Walking Company and the Maria Island Walk both collected gold in tourism categories, with Freycinet National Park claiming best major tourist attraction.
The Great Eastern Drive was also recognised in the destination marketing category.
