Part of the International Journeys program, the students raised $6500 for Donsava Primary School in Siem Reap, continuing on work started by other students last year.
St Marys District School assistant principal Ros Smith said the grade seven to ten students worked with Donsava students to build a new fence for the school.
She said the money raised also went towards a year’s supply of writing books, stationery items and school uniforms.
“They realised how lucky they are, and developed an empathy for students, as well as experiencing another culture,” she said.
