Led by team captain Susan Fenton, Relay For Life team The Groovers have raised more than $70,000 for the Cancer Council over the past 11 years, $10,000 of which has been raised this year.
The team will continue its fundraising push at 7pm Saturday with an event entitled Halloween Fright Night at the Italian Club in Prospect.
The coffin photo booth which won hearts at last year’s event will return for this year’s instalment, while a spooky tunnel entrance will ensure only the bravest get to experience Halloween-themed food and live music from Bullet House.
Mrs Fenton said the relay team had tripled in size since starting out with about ten members.
“Everybody in our team knows somebody with cancer or has had cancer... so that's why we do it, that's our main drive,” Mrs Fenton said.
