Dr Singh has been stranded in India after her passport was confiscated when she flew into the country to visit family, following Lokendra’s guilty verdict for attempted murder against her last year.
Her passport was taken by authorities after Lokendra’s family fabricated a police complaint against her.
Members of Lokendra’s family were charged by Indian police as a result.
Dr Singh is expected to arrive at Melbourne’s Tullamarine Airport at 6.10pm, and is expected to fly into Launceston some time tomorrow.
It is expected she will resume her position at Launceston General Hospital in the coming weeks.
Friend and colleague Robin Ikin said she was “very excited”.
“She didn’t think she’d be away to get away (from India),” Ms Ikin said.
