Singh was found guilty in October last year of attempted murder.
He viciously attacked his wife Renu at their Newnham home in February 2014.
More than a year later, Singh has not been sentenced after concerns arose about his mental health.
Evidence from two doctors – one called by the Crown and another called by the defence – was expected to be heard in the Launceston Supreme Court on Thursday.
But it was delayed until November 9.
The matter will return to court for a directions hearing on November 1.
