Last week it was about MND, this week it was about a tennis player earning millions. Both articles so far apart, people slowly losing their life and sadly, dying – like the story you had in The Examiner (October 23) of a very courageous lady, and then a tennis player not happy even when he wins million.
People are saying this tennis player is under a lot of stress. To that tennis player I say stop moaning, stress can be fixed. Sadly as yet MND can’t, so be thankful you can run around a tennis court , because if you had MND you wouldn’t be able to.

GOVERNOR DEFENCE
AT LAST, our Governor Kate Warner, has bravely spoken out in defence of refugees and has criticised leadership of One Nation for promoting racial hatred.
It seems obvious that many in our society are not happy with the direction the two major Australian political parties have taken on this matter.
I am convinced that many MPs, especially the women, do not go along with the policies of fear and bigotry as expressed by their leaders, who try to defend the indefensible.
Perhaps now, given the leadership Her Excellency has taken on this matter, some compassion will be exercised, and those suffering on Nauru and Manus will be brought to Australia.

GT Council Meeting
I WOULD like to express my appreciation to Bridget Archer the Mayor of George Town for correcting the record that I had refused to respect her call for order when asking a question at the September Council Meeting (The Examiner, October 17).
The mayor had also refuted my assertion that the new question time policy was restrictive.I based my statement on the fact that the new policy reduced the minimum time limit from 30 minutes to 15 and the lessening of questions from three to two.
Whilst question time at the October meeting was generous I stand by my statement.
