Ulverstone’s favourite cricketing son is finally coming home, with confirmation that Ben Hilfenhaus will play for his old club in a Twenty20 match next month.

The State’s leading wicket taker in first-class cricket will pull on Black Caps shirt on November 20 when they take on Wynyard at UCI Oval as part of a full day of short-form games at the venue.
Hilfenhaus last played for Ulverstone way back in the 2001-2002 season, and is looking forward to getting back on the field after being approached by former club coach Jason Pearce.
“It should be good – it’s great to be invited up to play a game and it’s a good opportunity to get back to the club,” the 33-year-old said.
“Hopefully I can give a few tips to the young blokes coming through.
“Jason had pitched the idea to me and if it fitted into my schedule it wasn’t going to be a drama.”
Hilfenhaus is only playing white-ball cricket in Hobart this season before gearing up for another BBL season with Melbourne Stars.
