The public are told this has been increased and some are going to lose their pension so as to recoup money that the country needs.
An independent audit that goes right through the books is what is needed to find out just how many millions is wasted by government on itself for no apparent use to the country or the economy.

GOOD to learn Coles is going to source its fresh vegetables entirely from Australian growers with a bonanza for Tassie farmers.
Equally good to know that two new hotels are planned for Launceston to somehow match all that is happening in Hobart.
Might I suggest that our council look to the proceeds of the carpark sale to buy the CH Smith site? Probably the only way we’ll get action on this eyesore.
And The Examiner, if you again show photos do so from the rear to capture what every passer-by sees of this neglected site.

Freedom of Speech
OBVIOUSLY it depends on who is exercising their right to freedom of speech and who are the arbiters of this privilege.
Pauline Hanson was able to express her opinions in Parliament with regard to Muslims and their religion but the Governor of Tasmania not the same rights, which were stated in public.
Commissioner for Human Rights, Gillian Griggs, stated what we all know to be perfectly true regarding the standard of politicians in the parliament, interesting that the Coalition is the only one making a fuss so perhaps there has been some soul-searching going on.
Attorney-General George Brandis would dearly love to see her removed from office, which is no surprise as it is difficult to find anyone with whom he can agree.
Personally I would prefer our appointed officers to have an opinion to show that they take an interest in what affects the nation.
