Organisers Danny King and Doug Miller have been running gravity enduro races in Tasmania since 2015 and said the two-day event in November will be a perfect test of the popular Blue Derby trails.
“The trails at Derby are world-class and this is just another way to put Tassie on the world mountain biking map,” King said.
“With the announcement of the world series event, we knew that the Derby event, our fourth and final in the 2016 series, would be very popular. There are so many awesome trails at Derby it was going to be impossible to incorporate them all in one day so we decided to extend the event to two days.
“We’ve had lots of interest from mainland riders looking to scope out the area ahead of the world series event in March.”
Round four of the Tasmanian gravity enduro series will be held on November 26-27 following legs in Hobart and Hollybank and a cancelled round in Penguin.
