Up to 22 fourth year students have collaborated on the project, providing them with real-world experience.
Architecture tutor Mark Bagguley said the students worked to a client brief and deliberately restrictive budget of $7000, which encouraged innovation, while still permitting flexibility.
Fourth year Master of Architecture student Kade Lovell said the project had progressed well after a challenging period.
“A month ago we were nearly lost...we’ve built all four of the main portals in less than a month,” he said.
Tasmanian Craft Fair director Tim Biggs said the entrance would provide guests with a sense of wonder.
“I wanted it to be a bit whimsical, where you’re stepping in to the world of the fair,” he said.
The Tasmanian Craft Fair runs from November 4-7 in Deloraine. For more information head to their website.
