With the first of 14 shows at the Earl Arts Centre set to kick off on Friday, Troy Ridgway said his directing debut had so far been characterised by laughter-filled rehearsals.
“The cast has been absolutely fantastic, every rehearsal they bring something new to it and they’re continually finding ways to make me laugh,” Ridgway said.
In what will be Tasmania’s first production of Blackadder, Ridgway promised audiences a brand new take on their favourite characters.
“What I've been trying to do is to take your original characters, like your Rowan Atkinson,Tony Robinson and Stephen Fry, take what they did for the TV shows but then put a new spin on it.”
