Toyota’s Local Sporting Legends photographic competition ultimately saw photographer Renee Marshall and cyclist Zack Gilmore win a Toyota Yaris for the picture of the state track cyclist training along the banks of the Tamar River.
However, the standard of entries can be seen from the remainder of the top five photos which range from football and fishing to motorcycling and surfing.
The competition encouraged entrants to capture a special sporting moment on camera in order to recognise their local hero.
Organiser Jess Sattler said the idea had been a big success. “We learnt many things along the way and plan on doing it all again in 2017,” she said.
