The group of students spent the day at the University of Tasmania in Hobart, testing their skills in a range of different challenges.
The competition is designed to test the skills of the students and promote science and engineering careers for their future.
The students had already competed in regional and state finals to get to the competition but did not know which challenges they would be faced with on the day.
Science teacher Darryl Bain said he was proud of how each of the students had worked together on the complicated tasks.
“The team worked hard and in the end it was a very good result,” Mr Bain said.
“The way that they compete is just as important as whether they win or not.”
Tasmania’s wild card school for the event was Mount Carmel College, who took home third place.
