Specialists in the energy supply field explain that 100 per cent renewable is indeed possible because renewables provide widely distributed generating capacity and require widely interconnected transmission lines, indeed different regions across the entire nation effectively back each other up (WA might be a special case).

It is always sunny somewhere, always windy somewhere, the tide is always going in or out or there are waves somewhere.

By interconnecting these generating units the system becomes very stable. There is no need to try and scare the citizenry as Mr Turnbull and Mr Frydenberg did. Politicians play the public, you and me, and we have to protect ourselves against that.

They could have been pointing out that renewables would require a much better integration of the transmission networks than at present and that would reduce the incidence of major shutdowns like the South Australian event.

A different worldview I suspect.

AFTER reading the report on the refusal of the Health Minister to answer his question on this state’s source of fluoride, I share Councillor Rodney Blenkhorn’s ire.

In a free society, we should have the right to know what goes into our water supply, and I thank Mr Blenkhorn for asking the question.

We have been deceived about fluoride.

Many dentists initially believed the myth that sodium fluoride was good for children’s teeth, but now realise that the only way it is helpful in preventing tooth decay is by direct application to the surface of the teeth by a dentist, and good oral hygiene and diet is a far better way to go.

Sodium fluoride is extremely toxic and cumulative; it is not a natural substance like calcium fluoride, but a hazardous industrial waste from the superphosphate industry, which brings disposable problems because of its very nature.

A small amount can kill a child; yet we have no way of knowing if and when accidents occur when the dosage is being added to our water supply, and how much is safe for children, or anyone to drink.

The government was warned before it began fluoridation in Tasmania that in the future it would cause a huge increase in cancer, brittle bone disease and dementia.

Fluoridated water cannot be used in kidney dialysis, as the patient very quickly falls victim to dementia.

As we frequently hear that kidney disease is silent until well advanced, how many people with unknown kidney disease are being damaged?

No respectable doctor would ever consent to medicating the water supply of whole towns and cities. People must be medically treated individually for obvious reasons.

Compulsive mass medication of any population with harmful toxic chemicals is immoral, unethical and totally unacceptable, and should be treated as a criminal offence.

For those who believe they gain some benefit from fluoride, tablets are available.

It is unconscionable to force it upon whole populations without their consent.

WHEN to go to war?  

Allowing bullies like Syria’s Assad and Russia’s Putin to commit the  activity they are now committing, just allows them to get stronger in the belief that the rest of the world are frightened of them and on appearances that is exactly the way it appears,  no one wants war but just how many more innocents will be sacrificed before they are reined in?
