The award is the latest in a long line of accolades for the company, that produces high quality leatherwood honey.
“I was so surprised because I was waiting for small business awards but they put me into agribusiness, which was wonderful,” Australian Honey Products company director and beekeeper Lindsay Bourke said.
The award qualifies the company for the national Export Awards, which Mr Bourke will attend in Queensland in November.
The award comes after a difficult year for the company. Beekeepers have battled drought, fire and floods.
Australian Honey Products not only exports honey, but also exports their bees to Canada. Tasmania has some of the healthiest, disease free bees in the world, which is highly valued by Canadian apiarists.
