The Launceston One Walk will raise awareness and funds for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. A relaxing two km walk will be followed by a barbecue, games and activities. It is free to enter and donations will be welcomed. Event coordinator Will Egan, who lives with type 1 diabetes, said the walk would be a “celebration of diabetes” and an opportunity to show diabetes wasn’t “limiting”.

“Events like these are great because they raise a lot of money for type 1 diabetic research … but it’s even more important ... because we can change the way people think and feel about diabetes,” Mr Egan said.
The walk will occur on Saturday, October 29 and leave Royal Park skate park at 11.30am. The event lasts from 11am to 2pm. For information and registration visit http://walk.jdrf.org.au/#tas
