This is the third album from the rock ‘n’ roll enigma that is the The Peep Tempel.
2014’s Tales thrust the band into reasonably popular rotation, and for such a unique sounding band, there were a lot of question marks over just what Joy would bring.
It’s ok, The Peep Tempel are still with us.
The unpredictable song arrangements still accompany frontman Scott Blake’s picture-painting lyrics.
The three-piece have employed just enough restraint to keep their trademark shambling punk the right shade of scruffiness, but cleaned it up just enough to progress on their previous release.
We’ve already heard the shouty chorus of Rayguns on radio stations as the album’s first single.
Other album highlights are Kalgoolie, We You Forget, and Constable.
