Just like Andrew Symonds at his peak, East Coast Vet Clinic's annual Christmas drive is looking to reach the 100-mark in the shortest time possible.

A collaborative effort between the clinic and Anglicare, Savanna's Christmas Appeal seeks to provide pet hampers for those in need during the festive season.

After last year's appeal helped out 90 families, veterinarian Jeff Parsons is hoping the event's fourth year will attract enough donations to compile 100-plus hampers.

“Every appeal always hopes to achieve as much as the previous year and more,” Dr Parsons said.

“A number (of recipients) are virtually reduced to tears by it because it's not expected that anyone would donate anything, particularly for their animals.”
