Northern Commander Brett Smith said the members arrived on the Spirit of Tasmania on Friday morning during their national run.
And one of them has already tested positive to riding under the influence of a drug.
Others have been issued with speeding infringements, following a “large police operation” on the Midland Highway at Symmons Plains that saw licence and registration checks conducted, along with random alcohol and drug tests.
Commander Smith said police had beef up patrols accordingly.
“There has already been a tragic road crash this morning, and while the cause is still under investigation, we urge all OMCG members to ride to the conditions on the state’s unfamiliar roads,” he said.
“The community can be assured that there will be a strong, coordinated, high-visibility police presence to monitor the activities of the OMCG members while they are in our state and police will respond to any issues that may arise.
“We will not tolerate criminal or anti-social behaviour.”
