The man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is accused of raping an elderly West Launceston woman in her home in July last year.
He was charged with an indictable Queensland offence earlier this year, after being granted bail, the Launceston Supreme Court heard on Friday.
His Queensland matter will not be resolved until at least June, meaning his Launceston trial will not occur until after.
