Tasmania's men's masters team make semi-finals at 2016 national eightball championships

Tasmania’s masters men’s team has qualified for semi-finals of the Australian Eightball Championships being played at Country Club Tasmania.

The Tassie masters players continued their successful run in the tournament accounting for SA 9-6 in round 13 and defeating WA 9-6 in round 14 in a battle of the top two teams.

The win gave them top spot on the table heading into semi-finals on Thursday night with 24 points from WA on 22, SA 18 and Queensland 16.

The state men’s team lost 18-6 to WA in round 14 to finish sixth and missed out on semi-finals.

Tasmania’s last representative in the singles Jeremy McGuire lost to Victorian Michael Scerri in the quarter finals 8-5.

Troy Ruddling went out in the round of 16 losing 7-2 to WA’s Justin Sajich.

The Tasmanian women’s team lost their round 13 match to SA 10-8 to  remain on the bottom of their table.
