On Thursday, Mr Hart welcomed the PM signing the memorandum of understanding for the University of Tasmania relocation, but said Mr Turnbull needed to fund the plan.

“The Prime Minister would be well advised to listen to TasWater and other local advocates in northern Tasmania, who insist that the Tamar River Sewerage Improvement Plan cannot be delayed for a further election cycle”, Mr Hart said.

The office of Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull was contacted for comment in the late hours of the afternoon.
