The bouquet of banksias, waratahs and other native flowers was created by florist Sue Hodgkinson who entered the festival with her coworker and fellow florist Leonie Johnson.
Both Ms Hodgkinson and Ms Johnson have been florists for more than 30 years and are now working with Newstead Flowers owner Kathleen Bowron.
Ms Bowron said she “could not be prouder”.
“I gave them free range to run loose with their imagination and they really came up with the goods,” she said.
“We’ll definitely be doing it again next year.”
Newstead flowers took home three awards in total from the festival including a second and third place for Ms Johnson’s creations which were a romantic bohemian and a tropical arrangement.
Ms Johnson said flowers were in her blood.
“I have been a florist for about 35 years and my mum had a florist shop,” she said.
