It was busy year for the Tasmanian band in 2015, but the five-piece is taking time in 2016 to regroup and spend their time writing music together.
The film clip for Say I will be released live, bringing the track’s fun, energetic and upbeat feeling to life.
The track comes off the group’s recent release, Bright.
Lead singer Michael Attard said releasing the track live was an exciting and nerve-racking experience but he was feeling good about how the clip came together.
“We went through a pretty cool process of making the clip and then after we saw it we were really impressed with how it’s turned out and we’re pretty excited to see what people’s reactions are,” Attard said.
“We tossed a lot of different ideas around and so we decided what song would represent us at the moment and Say I was off the album we released last year.
“Over time we’ve had a lot of different support from a lot of different people so we wanted to thank them because we are really thankful of the support that we do get locally. We’re really happy.”
Shot by Tasmania’s LUSY Productions, Attard said he was glad he could keep the production of the clip local.
The band has spent much of this year writing music together – a process that Attard said was often one of the most exciting times for the group.
With five members all working together to share ideas, he said bringing tracks together often felt like an organic process.
“We had a very busy year last year so we’re just writing new material at the moment and just really enjoying playing,” he said.
“Much of the energy comes from the creative process, especially with initial ideas.
“Sometimes they’re some of the most exciting times in music when we do that together and then seeing how it translates.”
The film clip will be launched on the big screen on October 7 from 8.30pm at the Royal Oak Hotel in Launceston.
The Embers will be joined at the launch by Guthrie and Nick Hill.
