Lane hire charges at the Launceston Leisure and Aquatic Centre is back on the City of Launceston agenda for its Monday council meeting.

The council will consider changes to the fee structure after a request was put forward by the Launceston Aquatic Club regarding a reduction in off peak lane hire and a change in off peak timings. According to the agenda item, three other swimming clubs support a reduction in fees, South Esk Swimming Club, the Aussi Master and the Launceston Triathlon Club.
If the proposal before council is approved, it would seen hire of 50 metre lanes in off peak times cost $35 and hire of $25 metre lanes in off peak times $17.50.
In addition the recommendation before council would see the introduction of an off peak weekend rare from 2pm, but as it currently stands there would be no change of off peak timings during the week.
The meeting starts at 1pm on September 26.
