A new sign has been installed on the inward approach to Launceston and on Sunday workers installed a new 'Thank You for Visiting' sign on the northern outbound side.
The $8000 signs were created in line with the council’s wayfinding strategy as part of the Launceston City Heart Project.
Mayor Albert van Zetten said the existing sign had reached the end of its life and the new signage would create a more pleasant approach to the city.
“This is a 110kmh road, so we need to ensure the colours, materials, fittings, lighting and other materials are of an appropriate standard.”
