Dozens of spectators attended to watch the action, which involves five ‘blockers’ forcibly creating space for their ‘jammer’ to move through and lap the opposing team.
Spectator Maureen Bennetts enjoyed the spectacle.
“It’s great to see, you know, people coming from other states and its a fabulous sport, very inclusive probably the most inclusive sport I've seen,” she said.
Devil State Derby League committee member Jacky ‘Saucy Lannister’ Scamlan said the community support for the event was outstanding.
“It’s always a good spectacle ... everyone’s loved it,” she said. “It’s really nice to get derby out there into the community.”
Ms Scamlan said there was strong competition.
“When you play derby you don't want to see teams that are well outranked, so as long as they're on the same level it's always going to be a good game,” she said.
