The $1 million project was partially funded by the federal government Jobs Fund scheme, and saw more than 50 traineeships created to build almost five kilometres of new track.
It has been handed over to council in time for the Bridport 10+ Fun Run – part of the North East Rivers Festival.
Bridport Innovations president Jill Van den Bosch said the track proved popular with visitors.
Dorset Mayor Greg Howard said the track was important for health and fitness.
"There are a lot of people who drive to Bridport just to walk on the track," Cr Howard said.
