It’s why he was happy to throw his weight behind Clifford Craig fundraiser Run and Walk For Your Heart.
“I just love being fit myself – I go to the gym and do a lot of walking and I encourage people to get out and about as much as possible,” Alderman van Zetten said.
Run and Walk for Your Heart, to be held October 2, will offer a five kilometre run and walk from 10am and an 800 metre children’s event from 9.30am.
All participants will receive a free ‘grab and go’ breakfast and have the opportunity to receive a health check from a University of Tasmania health science student.
Clifford Craig chief executive Peter Milne said the event aimed to raise awareness of how to look after the heart.
“Because Northern Tasmania does have such poor heart health compared to the rest of the nation this is an important promotion for an organisation like ours,” he said.
