Swim schools from across the nation are coming together for Learn to Swim Week to offer free lesson for little swimmers next week.
Launceston Aquatic Centre aquatic education and training coordinator Amanda Mayes said the centre would offer the free lessons to teach parents and children how to be safe and confident in the water.
“Swimming is a life skill so learning it is very valuable, especially when we’re surrounded by water all the time,” Ms Mayes said.
“For the kids under five, keeping them within arm’s reach and getting them swimming lessons is really important.
“The free lessons we’re offering will give people exposure for those who haven’t experienced a swimming lesson before.”
The Launceston Aquatic Centre will offer free lessons to children under five years old from September 24 until October 2. To make a booking call 6323 3636.
