Tassie a melting pot of fashion trends

Tasmania’s fashion trends could be inspired by where we live as much as the mainland.

On the one hand, Tasmania is a small place so we don’t have a lot of variety in clothing stores.

We tend to take our fashion trends from the mainland or the internet, keeping our eyes on fashion blogs and insta famous people.

The hundreds of places for inspiration has meant that there isn’t just one trend and many people step out of the comfort zones trying different styles.

But some fashion psychologists suggest that trends are influenced by our surroundings and culture.

Tasmania’s has such an art culture and Dark Mofo plays a big part of it.

Another component of surroundings factors is the climate.

Tasmania has a cold winter and that would be a component in what influences what we wear in winter.
