Mr Benneworth was on medication for type two diabetes, cholesterol and blood pressure, and in three months he has stopped all of them.
“My doctor told me six months ago that I was a walking heart attack waiting to happen, and now I have no problems at all,” he said.
He credits his success and diabetes reversal with the low carbohydrate, healthy fat diet which was recommended by his GP and Dr Gary Fettke.
“I’ve given away potatoes, bread rice and pasta and that's about it. I still have a drink but I don't eat sweets.. that’s the great thing, it’s so bloody easy.”
Dr Fettke appeared on the Sunday Night program when Mr Benneworth was introduced to viewers in May, but could not appear while investigations into his practice continue.
