Lyons said several factors had contributed to the rise in numbers, which has seen 1000 people on average attend every finals match across both divisions this season.
“A lot of people follow grassroots football and perhaps they like the product we are presenting,” he said.
“The competitions have been even all year and we’ve had many different clubs in the finals – it just hasn’t been the one or two.”
Lyons said the NTFA had also picked the best venues to host the finals.
“I think we’ve got the balance of venues right,” he said.
“Windsor Park is a tremendous venue to host finals, so to is the redeveloped Invermay Park.
“We’ve had great feedback.”
Entry into Saturday’s division 2 grand final at Windsor Park is $10 for adults, $8 for concession and under-16s are free.
